Joe Pounder

Founder & CEO

Joe Pounder is BSG’s Founder and CEO. Under his leadership, BSG has grown to include more than 50 professionals serving clients across diverse industries in the U.S. and abroad.

Prior to founding BSG, Joe launched several successful communications and research groups and held senior roles in American politics and government. He served as a senior advisor to Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign, Communications Director in Rubio’s U.S. Senate office, and Deputy Campaign Manager for his successful 2010 Senate race. He also served as Research Director and Deputy Communications Director at the Republican National Committee during the 2012 cycle, and previously worked with House Republican Whip Eric Cantor, Senator John McCain’s and Governor Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaigns, and the White House Office of Communications under President George W. Bush.

Joe is currently serving as a Terker Distinguished Fellow at George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs (SMPA) for the 2025-26 academic year. Recognized nationally for his expertise in political communication and strategy, he has been profiled by Campaign & Elections, The Washingtonian, GQ, Politico, and BuzzFeed. He is a graduate of George Washington University.
